Wine Selection: Clay Stations’
“Voignier” 2003
[Choosing a Wine Basket] [Wine Etiquette With Ease] [Brunello di Montalcino]
As the summer season gently falls upon us, we recognize the subtle signs of
leisure creeping in. Whether it is a long awaited vacation, more frequent visits
with family or just finding yourself more in the mood to go out and be among
friends. Fine food, great music and an array of new and exciting wines are all
one needs to bring magic to any evening.
Chilled whites make their way to the forefront of most wine lists this time of
year and most wine makers have creative and delectable new offerings for the
tasting. The usual Chardonnays,Reislings,Pinot Grigios and Sauvignon Blancs are
joined by some less familiar and more difficult to grow ( and sometimes
pronounce) grapes.
Clay Station has crafted just such a wine in its “Voignier” Vintage 2003, out of
historic Lodi California. This wonderfully fresh alternative is sure to appeal
to both Chardonnay drinkers and Riesling drinkers alike. Clay Stations
“Voignier” showcases succulent aromas of peach apricot and honeysuckle with the
slight sweetness of mango and honey. The well rounded finish will leave you
ordering another glass, perhaps even a bottle. Reasonably priced and fairly easy
to pronounce; (vee-oh-nyay). Clay Stations Voignier is a wine that goes beyond
the ordinary! Enjoy!
